Viktor Halasiuk is a Ukrainian economist and public figure. The President of the Ukrainian Association of the Club of Rome, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Kyiv International Economic Forum (KIEF), and a corresponding member of the World Academy of Sciences and Arts, Ph.D.
In 2022, became the CEO of the international educational initiative Ukraine Global Faculty (ugf.academy), which organizes lectures by leading professors from foreign universities and world-renowned experts for Ukrainians.
From 2014 to 2019, served as a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, where chaired the Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship, co-chaired the Parliamentary Group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the United States, and served as Deputy Chair of the Ukrainian Part of the Parliamentary Association Committee.
A supporter of industrial and innovative development and was recognized as the most effective legislator in the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII convocation. Has authored and developed over 30 economic laws passed by parliament aimed at improving the investment climate, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, developing industry, and promoting exports.
From 1998 to 2014, held various leadership positions in the corporate sector, ranging from project manager and functional department director in consulting to top manager in investment business and head of a high-tech industry association.
Holds a Ph.D. in Economics, the author of the course “Economic Engineering”. He is a professor at the Institute of Applied Systems Analysis of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, an invited professor at Taras Shevchenko National University, Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (KMBS), and Kyiv School of Public Administration (KSPA).
A participant in the Aspen Institute Kyiv programs and has been undergoing training at Harvard Business School since 2019. Has received training and internships in Japan, the United Kingdom, the EU, and the United States.
His research areas include economic policy, economic growth, and sustainable development.
