Professor of Business Leadership, Strategy, and Organizations at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Academic Director of the Stanford Executive Program, and Professor of the new Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. For over 30 years at Stanford, Barnett has studied competition between people and organizations, and investigated the specifics of innovation and business process efficiency. His work shows the disadvantages of intense competition within firms, as well as the advantages of competition between companies, or what he calls “Red Queen competition.”
